Dream bigger...the clock is ticking

Even if you feel like you are lightyears away from the future reality you want to embody, it doesn’t matter.

Hey there,

There’s this strange thing about life…

You have all the time in the world, yet no time at all.

Because time, after all, is a perception.

In high school, I used to stare at the clock watching the minute hand move agonizingly slow, while I listened to my world history teacher drone on about Mesopotamia.

Yet, in the same breath, when I was hanging out with friends on Saturday the time would go from 10am to 9pm in the blink of an eye.

As we get older, the perception of time begins to speed up and all of a sudden months are flying by and you look back on the years of your life that have flashed by.

Granted, I’m only 26, but I look back on the last 4 years since graduating college and I’m awestruck at the fact that it’s already been 4 whole years.

Which got me thinking…

Our lives are not slowing down.

In fact, they’re getting exponentially faster, the older you get.

And when you experience something that can threaten the future of your life, like health problems or injuries, you suddenly feel this urgency that you’ve never felt before.

I’ve personally woken up everyday for the last month, with this feeling that I’m running out of time.

It’s as if I imagine this clock above my head, ticking and ticking, reminding me constantly that I’ve only got one chance to make a life worth living.

This feeling can take over your life if you let it, which is why I think it’s incredibly important to use it as a fire to push the gas pedal and move forward as strong and fast as possible.

All those dreams you’ve had floating through your head and the things you said you were going to do are completely within your abilities, if you actually apply yourself.

Use this as the kick you need to start running towards your goals.

Run as fast as you can in the direction you want your life to head, because you never know when it could all change.

Even if you feel like you are lightyears away from the future reality you want to embody, it doesn’t matter.

You will never get there if you don’t start taking the right steps today.

So, start moving…today.

Do 5 things everyday that move you in the direction you want to go.

Is it going to be hard?

Yes.

Is it going to take longer than you ever expected?

Yes.

But, will you finally feel there is a purpose to your life as you pursue this lifelong mission?

Yes.

Get after it and do something.

Until next time,

-Grant
