Weekly Reflection

This shouldn’t be easy.

If you’re trying to do anything out of the ordinary.

Anything that pushes the limits.

It’s not going to be easy.

And you’re silly to think that it should be easy.

This is something I’ve had to constantly remind myself of and re-mold my expectations around, when approaching certain things.

I’m not perfect at this yet, but here’s my theory.

If something is hard - that’s a privilege.

If an obstacle has been put in your way - that’s another way to get better.

If you’re struggling with something - it’s a chance to show others that it’s possible to overcome.

No matter what journey you are on, I want to you to remember that life is not supposed to be easy. If it were, it would be boring.

The struggles are what make life worth living.

Brand Update

Things are moving along with Dowur, admittedly, at a slower pace than I would like - but, I am trying not to throw too many plates in the air before surgery because I won’t be able to work on things for a few days, while I’m in the hospital.

Samples are in production at the manufacturer for the new running hat shown here.

It’s going to be made out of a nylon ripstop fabric, which is perfect for running due to it’s lightweight nature and quick-dry capabilities.

The overall fit and panel design for the hat was pulled from a vintage running hat, so it may need some tweaking, but we won’t know until it shows up.

I’m excited to get the hat in hand and start testing it out in daily use.

Alongside the hat, I’m working on a lightweight, nylon running jacket as well.

This jacket has spent a lot more time in the pre-production phase because it is much more complex than the running hat mentioned above.

This jacket has a nylon outer, with mesh interior - meaning, I’ve had to hunt high and low for the right fabrics that work well together, but will also stand up over time.

Additionally, I’m still playing around with the branding aspects of this jacket. I spend most of the time redoing or altering the logos / branding elements to try and find something that looks good and isn’t too loud as a design.

Action Step

When you run into something difficult this week, which we all will…

Face it head on and don’t give up until you’ve conquered it.

Whether it’s calling someone about a new business deal, sending that cold email, or just finally cleaning up that drawer that’s been a mess for months.

Instead of taking the easy way out, delaying it until tomorrow, or avoiding it all together…

Run face first into the storm.

You’ll feel 100x better once you get it done and you’ll prove to yourself that it wasn’t as bad as you thought it would be.
